Damian about himself

After moving to Sweden in 2000 and having competed in cycling from a young age with my father driving me around to all the mountain bike competitions (ranked 14th in England MTB) and then switching to road racing, you never want to give it up. There was a break where I stopped racing and training, but I never forgot it.
After starting Cycle Corner and being in a new area Hammarby Sjöstad and meeting some great friends in cycling, the urge to ride again came back even stronger. The feeling to ride with some great riders and compete in that both friendly and hostile environment gives you the craving to want more. With Cycle Corner sponsoring some great people not only great riders gives me the perfect excuse to race and ride again for something I love doing.

Having started Cycle Corner back in April 2005 I never lost the reason for why bike shops are supposed to exist. Sure we are here to put bread on the table, but I think there is a greater reason for professional bike shops. Bike shops can give back so much. When I was younger, just the feeling of being around a bike shop and seeing what could be your first bike was an out of this world feeling. The local bike shop always looked after me. Not so I would buy items but because they liked being around people who were passionate about riding, whether it was a person transporting themselves to and from work, or the next local superstar.

The main reason to create this team of riders is support those riders who are super passionate about riding and racing bikes and for them to know that Cycle Corner is behind them and loves to here their stories being told afterwards. It’s about going out on your bike each time, training to your best ability, racing hard and having fun. It’s about going back in time and remembering that the inbuilt feeling for cycling is passion. Cycle Corner is here to embrace that.

Thank you to the riders who represent Cycle Corner, you are great ambassadors to cycling in Sweden, Stockholm.
